Many will think that I’m a pessimist when I say, ‘no good deed goes unpunished’, but my optimism has never been higher. Growing apathy and prescribed medication are partially responsible for my happy demeanor, but daily living proves again and again that doing the right thing leads to dire consequences.
Don’t get me wrong, I treat others as I want to be treated. So, I must withdrawal whenever possible from human contact in order to keep my improved outlook.
Mark Twain once wrote: No sane man can be happy, for to him life is real, and he sees what a fearful thing it is. Only the insane can be happy, and not many of those.
May I be in the group of “not many”.
